Unfortunately my garden got away on me quite sometime ago but its not too late for you in the Northern Hemisphere - You can start planning!

Any ways I came across this great website a while ago OrganicAuthority, and reading through their articles I found this tip list for healthy Winter skin. I thought of you all. They're very simple to read and incredibly easy to follow.

8 Natural Beauty Tips for Cold Winter Weather

1. Drink More Water

Staying well hydrated is one of those natural beauty tips that’s true all year long, but especially during winter weather. Drinking in as much water as possible (hot tea counts!) will refresh your body and your skin, keeping you bright throughout the season.

2. Reduce Caffeine and Alcohol

Caffeine, if consumed in beyond moderately, can dehydration (see above). Alcohol has a similar effect. A few days a week, switch your morning coffee to a fruit or vegetable juice and minimize alcohol consumption. Be sure to drink water between alcoholic beverages as well.

3. Take a Chlorella Supplement

While supplements aren’t normally found among natural beauty tips, chlorella is an exception. Chlorellais a freshwater, green microalga. It contains the full spectrum of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, antioxidants and phytonutrients as well as protein, fiber, and essential fatty acids. It also contains the nucleic acids RNA and DNA, which improve cellular function and body rejuvenation. Cellular turnover is especially important in winter weather so that your skin stays looking young, nourished, and free of rashes or dryness.

4. Eat With Purpose

It’s tempting to indulge in warm, heavy comfort food on the regular during cold winter weather. However, there are ways to get the warmth and bulk without the excess calories and less-than-perfect ingredients. Omega-3s in fish helo to build collagen, vitamin E in green leafy vegetables and avocados defends cells and boosts immunity, and vitamin C in citrus fruits prevents wrinkles and heal scar tissue.

5. Get a New ‘Do

Before the start of winter, get a fresh look! Cut off split ends, add color and exit the salon with glorious tresses. Your hair will get a hefty dose of dry air and bouts of snowfall and cold, wet rain throughout the winter, so enter the season with a rejuvenated look that is set to battle the elements.

6. Exfoliate

Dry, cold weather can cause the skin to become flaky and coarse. During winter weather, exfoliating scrubs help to remove dead skin cells and reveal soft, glowing skin underneath. Try this baking soda exfoliating scrub for both your face and body.

7. Moisturize

The key to keeping your skin durable during the winter months is by using a moisturizer that keeps your cells hydrated, and protected from the elements. You don’t need to spend the big bucks on an elite brand when the most potent and effective moisturizers are those that you make yourself. Try your hand at a homemade skin moisturizer for face and body.

8. Nail It

When talking natural beauty tips, it’s important not to forget about nails. Fingernails take quite the beating, especially if you use nail polish on a regular basis. Refrain from pushing your cuticle back – it is meant to protect you from bacteria. Also, opt for an eco-friendly nail polish like Karma Organic which contains no toluene, formaldehyde or DBP and is safe for pregnant women, kids, cancer patients and allergy sufferers. Their polish and polish remover also supports American farmers.
